Alfred was born on 20 Oct
1865 in the torp called Carlsdal on the Åldersbäck
farm in Västrum parish in Sweden. He came to America in 1868
with his parents and brothers and uncles and aunts and cousins.
They were the largest family who settled Kiron in the beginning.
His aunt Sara was a charter member of the Kiron Baptist church.
Alfred farmed with his father on their farm in Stockholm section
29. He was known as a very hard worker and a loyal supporter of
his church where he sang in the choir. In 1908, he was asked to
be on the building committee for the new church which he served
as secretary. He was responsible for excavating out the space
for the basement and foundation. Alfred raised a family of 5 daughters.
He died on 18 March 1944 and is buried in the Kiron Cemetery.
