Ed was born on 8 February 1871
on the farm in Stockholm township, Crawford county, Iowa. He was
the son of Carl Fredrik Clauson and Lena Karin Jonsdotter both
born in Misterhult parish Sverige and who had emigrated from Västrum
parish in 1868. Ed spent his entire lifetime promoting the community
of Kiron. He served as postmaster, furniture dealer, undertaker,
coronor, operator of a general store and many more various activities.
He had the reputation of being able to catch more tree roosting
chickens per minute than any competitor. Always willing to serve,
he led many civic and church projects. He died on 23 June 1953
in Kiron, Iowa after a very full life of 82 years. He is buried
in the Kiron Cemetery, Kiron, Iowa.
