Ruth Harriet Clauson is the middle
daughter of Alfred Clauson and Lottie Anderson. She was born on
12 March 1901 on the family farm in Stockholm township in Crawford
county, Iowa. She married John Stehlik in 1939 and they farmed
in eastern Milford township for many years. An avid fisherman,
she enjoyed a yearly fishing trip to Minnesota. Known for her
kind and gentle manner, she was always available to support her
church in various activities. Ruth retired, moved to Denison,
and then to Eventide rest home where she died on 31 May 1984.
She is buried in the Clauson burial plot along side her husband
in the Kiron Cemetery.
