Dr. Garner was born 2 July
1877 in Cedar County, Iowa. He moved as a boy with his family
to a farm in Hayes township in Ida County. He attended medical
school and returned to his home community to practice medicine.
In 1908, he was a member of the group that created the public
library in the Kiron Baptist Church.
