Albert was born on 26 April 1917
on the family farm in Stockholm township. His parents are Henry
Gronau and Emilie Neumann. Albert attended school at Stockholm
#4 and then went on to Kiron High School. He excelled at sports
and was on the schools most successful basketball team. He graduated
in 1934 and five years later married Virginia Marie Sandstrom.
They became parents of four children: Jean, Jerry, Abe, and Jane.
He farmed the family farm for many years. He died on 27 July 1983
and is buried in the St. John's Cemetery in Stockholm township.
