Hedda Lovisa was born on 23 October
1827 in Misterhult parish in Sweden. Her parents both died before
she was seven. She emigrated to America with the Clauson families
in 1868. She married Charles Duncan and they worked at a frontier
supply post for a few years. They came back to Kiron with enough
money to buy 80 acres in Stockholm section 30. Charles died in
1879 but Hedda Lovisa was a member of the community until 1920
having lived to the age of 92. She died at the peak of the influenza
scare so her funeral was held outdoors in the month of February
to avoid having a crowd of people inside one building. She is
buried in the Kiron Cemetery.
