| Swan was born in Perstorp parish in Sweden. He emigrated in 1868 and came to Iowa. In 1877 he married Lois Larson and they settled down on a farm in Wheeler Township. Four of his children, Louis, Adelbert, Florence, and Martin, reached adulthood. He was buried in the Kiron Cemetery. |
