 1882 Old Kiron Grocery Store

Another view of the Swede Brothers grocery store in Old Kiron. Apparently 'merchandise' was transported in those large wooden boxes on the front porch and in the wagon. The gentleman at the door is unidentified - probably Eric Swede. Closer examination shows a full beard of about 6 inches. After Eric's death, a Norelius relative and a Nordell relative reopened the store and it is recorded that they were the first of the Old Kiron building owners to move their facilities to new Kiron in 1899. In all probability, this building stood on the east side of street across from the bank and became the north section of the later expanded G.A.Norelius store. Current memories will remember this as Herbert Ward's store.
