Dolores Mae Clauson, the only daughter of John Eldon Clauson and Dorothy Greene, grew up in the Kiron area. She graduated from the Kiron High School in 1942. Bruce Curtis Paulson grew up in the flat farm country of the Red River plains near Hatton, North Dakota. They both pursued educational careers and met while both teaching at Maple Lake, Minnesota. Dolores taught home economics and Bruce was in physical education. They were married on a hot and humid Minnesota eve at the Lesxington Avenue Presbyterian Church in St. Paul, Minnesota on 7 Aug 1947. The ceremony was preformed by Rev HH McCloud and witnessed by A. Marian Larsen & Julian S. Stenehjem. Julian was a best friend of Bruce from Hatton, ND.
For many years they made their home in Medelia, Minnesota where they continued their educational careers and raised their family. Their children are Brenda, Kent, Barbara, and Keith, all of whom have married and have families of their own. Taking advantage of career enhancements, they moved their family to Mankato, Minnesota where Bruce served as dean of students at Mankato State University. They lived there many years and children Kent and Barbara still live in the area. Bruce passed away in October of 1991 and was buried in the Mankato Cemetery with full military honors.
