Mrs. Oscar G. (Florence) Anderson, 71, died at her home early Monday morning, 8 January 1979 following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at Elfsborg Lutheran church, Pomeroy, Iowa, Wednesday morning 10 January 1979 with burial at Elfsborg Cemetery. Attendants for the service were James Waldemar and Larry Waldemar of Kiron, Oscar Nelson Jr., Dale Ryan, Loren J. Tiermen and Michael Plantz.
Surviving are her husband Oscar G.; sons, Curtis
and Dean Anderson both of Pocahontas; daughters, Mrs. James C,
(Jean) Dexter of Des Moines and Mrs. James W. (Donna) Hudson of
Pocahontas, 11 grandchildren and one brother, Walter Anderson,
Pocahontas.
Florence Christine Anderson was born in Crawford
County and educated in Kiron. She graduated from Kiron High School
in 1927. She married Oscar G. Anderson in Kiron in 1939. After
their marriage they moved to Pocahontas County where they lived
until moving into Pocahontas in 1970.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Chatter Club, The Birthday Club, The Pocahontas Community Hospital Auxiliary, The Pocahontas Garden Club, The Lutheran Church Women and a church circle.
Mrs. Anderson was a telephone operator in Kiron. Mrs. Anderson was a niece of the late Alfred, Bill, Ed, and Otto Clauson.
