Mrs. Hanna Anderson Carlson
1857 - 1943

Mrs. Hannah Carlson, nee, Anderson, was born in Vastergotland, Sweden, 14 Dec 1857 and came to America in the year 1891 when she made her home with her borther who lived in this locality. She was united in marriage to Fred C. Carlson on 16 March 1894. To this union was born three children, George and Fredina, who reside at home and Vetus of Odebolt.

Mrs. Carlson was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Sweden and became a member of Bethel on arrival here. She has been a loyal and faithful communicant member of Bethel, the place of rest for the soul. Attendance of Divine worship and Communion was a real joy to her and she continued attendance until health no longer permitted her this privilege. She was a faithful supporter of the Ladies Aid and a Charter member of the W. M. S.

Mrs. Carlson was the youngest of a family of six children and the last from this land to the "land that is fairer than day". She has been in failing health the past few years and passed away Thursday morning 16 Sept 1943 at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 2 days. Beside her three children, she leaves to mourn her departure one daughter in law, Carol, Mrs, Vetus Carlson, and grandson, Billy, of Odebolt, several nephews and neices as well as other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, 2 o'clock from the home and 2:30 from Bethel Lutheran Church with the pastor, Rev. H. Lester Peterson, officiating. Miss Anna Anderson sang a solo, and a hymn was sung by Mrs. E. N. Sandstrom, Mrs. John Baker and Mrs. M. A. Sandstrom. The pallbearers erer Earl Linquist, Edwin Carlson, J. E. Baker, Iver Sundell, Ed Lundblad and Enoch Anderson. Many floral tributes spoke of her high esteem. Interment was made in the family plot at Bethel Cemetery.
