Funeral Services Wednesday for Mrs. M. Johnson –Hilma Jacobson

Mrs. Martin Johnson passed away at Elkhart after a long illness. Services were held Wednesday 17 march 1948 with the Rev. H. Lester Peterson officiating. Interment was made in the Odebolt cemetery.

Hilma Jacobson was united in marriage to Martin Johnson 18 April 1892 at Fort Dodge. They lived in Fort Dodge the first ten years of their married life, moving to Sweden in 1902. Upon their return to the United States four years later, they farmed near Webster City, Buffalo Center, Swea City and in 1917 they bought a farm near Elkhart. They again moved to Sweden after living at Elkhart and remained there for four years. In 1926 they moved back to Odebolt and took up residence on Willow street which had been their home until the death of Mr. Johnson in February 1943.

Mrs. Johnson has been visiting her children in Elkhart since the death of her husband.

Surviving are three sons, Sigurd L. and Arthur of Elkhart and Edward M. of Denver, Colorado.
