Funeral Services For Mrs. Tellgren Held At Free Church
Memorial services were held Wednesday, June 7, 1961 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kiron Free Church for Mrs. Agnes Tellgren of Kiron. Works of comfort, spoken by Rev. Wallace Larson and comforting music by Mrs. Lloyd Benson, who sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden" accompanied by Mrs. Richard Gustafson on the organ.
Pallbearers were Kermit and Lloyd Benson, Arthur, Wilbur and Lloyd Anderson and Russsell Gustafson. Interment was in the Kiron Cemetery.
Agnes A. Johnson Tellgren was born August 16, 1899 at Burlington, Iowa to William and Wilhelmina Johnson. She spent her childhood in Burlington until June 22, 1927 when she was united in marriage to Reuben E. Tellgren, a union to which four children were born, Robert of Council Bluffs; Glenn and Joyce, Mrs. David Conway of Portland, Oregon, and Lawrence A. who is stationed with the Air Force in Germany.
She was a member of the Kiron Evangelical Free Church which she served faithfully and willingly and also held the position of Sunday School Superintendant at the time of her death.
Mrs. Tellgren was stricken ill on the train enroute home from Portland, Oregon on June 2, 1961 and died shortly thereafter enroute to a hospital in Laramie, Wyoming.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, four children, two daughters in law, one son in law, one grand daughter, Taralie Tellgren. Five brothers, George H. Johnson of Portland, Oregon; Earl A. Johnson of Creeve Cove, Illinois; William H. Johnson; Carl F. Johnson and Milton L. Johnson of Burlington and one sister Gertrude, Mrs. Robert Barton of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa as well as a host of other friends and relatives.
