Notice from the 26 May 1927 Ida Grove Paper:

Death of   Mrs. Amy Johnson Edstrom

Sad and unexpected news came last week of the passing away of Mrs. Amy Edstrom, wife of Dr. J. A. Edstrom of Stromsburg, Neb. She was born in Arthur in 1908??? and on 23 April 23 1913 she was married to Dr. J. A. Edstrom, then in Omaha. She died suddenly from heart trouble on 20 May 1927 and was buried in the Hayes cemetery where her parents were buried. Her father died hardly a year ago and her sister, Mrs. Ellen Barker, about six months since. Her husband, two daughters, Edith and Alice, the two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Johnson of Arthur, and Mrs. Sadie Malmquist of Kiron mourn deeply their great loss.

Converted in her childhood days she has always been a sincere Christian ready to serve the church in any way she could. For many years she was a member of the Arthur Baptist church. The service was held in the home of Adolph Salmonson of Kiron and in the Arthur Baptist church Sunday afternoon, P. Lovene officiating and assisted by Rev. Martin C. Hamlin of Alcester, SD.
