Leonard Raymond Johnson - - Funeral Held At Kiron Friday (1903 - d 26 Nov 1974)

Leonard Raymond Johnson was born in Kiron, 20 September 1903 to Frank and Josephena Johnson and died November 26, 1974 at the Horn Memorial hospital, Ida Grove, after spending a week to the day there, of emphysema.
He attended school in Kiron , worked on construction until 1936 when he went to work for John Baker north of Kiron. He was married to Roxie A. Watson April 5, 1939, and they made their home on the same place for 35 and 1/2 years. One daughter, Mary Ellen was born there and they took Mrs. Johnson's nephew as a child. Mr. Johnson retired from farm work when the family held a sale this past fall. They had purchased a home in Arthur into which they moved two weeks ago.
Survivors include his wife, Roxie, daughter Mary Ellen, foster son, Richard Huff, his wife, Sharon and daughter, Anita of Woodburn, Indiana. Two brothers, Albert of Cedar Falls, and Oscar of Arvada, Colorado; two sister-in-law, Mrs. Etta Johnson of Kiron and Hilda Johnson of Cedar Falls. His parents, and two brothers, Ted and Edwin preceded him in death.
Leonard was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Kiron and served as a deacon after the new church was completed. Service was Friday 29 November 1974 with Rev. William Johnson presidine. Solo by Dennis Lindskoog, How Great Thou Aart, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Mervin Buller, organist.
Pallbearers were Howard Anderson, Donald Bergman, Milford Barker, Vernie Haldeen, Russell Gustafson, and Donald Lindstrom.
Interment was in the Bethel cemetery.
