Robert E. Lalone 26 June 1998
Robert E. Lalone, age 68 of Arthur died unexpectedly Friday 26 June 1998 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa with Reverend John Schauer and Reverend Andrew Currao officiating. Burial was in Hayes Township Cemetery, rural Arthur. Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Born 4 August 1929 at Dunlap, Iowa, Bob was the son of Ernest and Minnie (Knutzen) Lalone. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1947 he graduated from Dunlap high School then attended technical school in Wausau, Wisconsin. In 1959 Bob married Karen Makowski at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Two children were born to this union.
Bob Spent four years in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a DAV. On 22 December 1976 he married LaDonna Druivenga Linman at Storm Lake. He managed the E. W. Oates Lumber Company in Storm Lake and the Arthur Lumber Company in Arthur. For the last eighteen years, he farmed. he retired in 1993. Bob enjoyed woodworking, country dancing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife LaDonna; two daughters, Jodi Lalone Mixdorf and husband mark of Stevens Point, Wisconsis and Jeannie Weir and husband Brian of Port Washington, Wisconsin; 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Zachery Mixdorf; one brother, Devon and wife Marlys of Storm Lake; one sister, Donna Bumann and husband Donald of Storm Lake; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Bieschke-Murphy and husband John of Denison; four nieces and nephews; two stepchildren, Marsha Patterson and husband Joel of Grundy Center, and Patricia Wiebers and husband Larry of Schlewwig; and 4 step-grandchildren.
