Mrs. Sophia Lindberg who was a resident of the Odebolt community for 14 years, died at the home of her daughter in Morris, Illinois. She has been in failing health for several years and has been bedfast for over a year when she suffered a fall and fractured her hip. A short memorial service was held at morris, Illinois and then a funeral service at the Arthur Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon with Rev. Lovene officiating.

Sophia Kristine Larson was born November 12, 1860 in Sweden. She was 69 years, 6 months and 2 days at the time of her death. She came to the US at the age of 19, first to Chicago and then Morris, Illinois and later moving to Ida County, Hayes Township. Her husband preceded her in death in 1913. About 10 years ago she moved to Morris to live with her daughter. Six children were born to them, five of who survive, Harry, Hedrick, John, Arthur and Mrs. Oscar Johnson. One daughter, Edna died in 1909.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Lindberg were held in the Arthur Baptist church last Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor. She passed away in Morris, ill, Wednesday evening, May 14, after a long illness, having been bedridden for over a year. She was a native of Sweden where she was born November 12, 1860 and came to this country at the age of nineteen. married in 1881 to john H. Lindberg, they lived for fourteen years in Arthur, where he died in 1913. Five of the children are living and some of them are well known in this community: Harry H, of Hedrick, Iowa, Ambrose J. of Salina, Kansas; John H. of Morris, Ill; Arthur E. of Van Nuys, Cal but who has lived until recently near Odebolt, and mrs. Oscar Johnson of Morris, Ill. She also leaves three brothers and seven grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist church of morris, and lived a sincere and earnest Christian Life, endearing herself to all who knew her. Interment was made in the cemetery south of Arthur, where her husband also is buried.
