Delphine M. Johnson - (1896 - 1994)
Funeral services for Delphine M. Johnson, 97, of Odebolt, were at 10 am Monday in the Faith Lutheran Church in Odebolt. She died Saturday 1 Jan 1994 at a Sioux City nursing home. The Rev. Victor N. Johnson officiated, with burial in the Od3ebolt Cemetery. The Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Odebolt was in charge of Arrangements.
Mrs. johnson was born 2 may 1896 at Odebolt, daughter of Charles and Emma (Vensen) Leonard. She attended country school and married a farmer, Julius A. Johnson, in 1915 in Odebolt. They farmed together until they moved into town in 1948. Mr. Johnson died in 1954. She later worked as a practical nurse in the Ida Grove hospital. She retired at age 71 in 1967. She moved to Sioux City's holy Spirit Retirement Home in 1987. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: a son, Dr. Paul Johnson of Sioux City; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Kenneth, and two infant boys; three brothers, Bernard, Raymond and Howard Leonard; and a sister, Gladys Petschauer.
