Obituary of Christina Katarina Lindblad
- (1839 - 24 April 1920) - Kiron
Christina Katarina Lindblad was born in Ingatorps socken Smaland,
Sweden July 7th, 1839 and passed away at Kiron, Iowa April 24,
1920. She was united in marriage to Carl Johnson in 1859, the
couple coming to America eight years later locating first in Illinois,
later coming to Iowa and settling on a farm near Kiron where they
lived until they retired from farm life and moved to town.
Mrs. Johnson was the mother of four children, two dying in childhood.
Those who survive with the husband to mourn her loss are Josephena,
wife of F. G. Johnson of Kiron and Frank O. living on the old
homestead. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. S. A. Palm
and Mrs. A. F. Lundberg, and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson was a woman of a quiet, unassuming nature who loved
her home and family and most of her time was spent with in the
home circle. Patient and uncomplaining even in her last illness,
she tried to be as little care as possible to her daughter who
gave her every comfort and care.
Services were held on Teusday afternoon from the home conducted
by Rev. Glad with interment in the Lutheran cemetery.
