Obituary of August Frederick Lindgren (1848 - 3 May 1936)
August Frederick Lindgren was born in Tuna Socken, Kalmar län, Småland, Sweden on 22 Dec 1848. He married Clara Linman in 1868 just before leaving for America. To them six children were born. Only two survive. He came to America in 1869 and they settled first in Illinois. In 1870 they came to the Kiron area and lived there for 12 years. In 1883 they moved to Ida County, south of Arthur. Last year he lived with his daughter Mrs. Leonard Christenson who took care of him.
Early in life he accepted Jesus into his life and was baptized in 1871. He was largely established in the Evangelical Church and gave for the purpose of building a church.
He died Sunday 3 May 1936 at the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 12 days. He leaves a son, Conrad of Sioux City and one daughter, Amelia Christensen of Ida Grove, 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Evangelical Church with Rev. H. A. Faugerstrom officiating with burial in the Hayes Cemetery.
