Obituary of Last Rites For Mrs. Tuneberg Held Saturday (Jan 1958)

Funeral services for Mrs. Hilma Tunberg of Arthur were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, 1 Feb 1958 at the Evangelical Free church of Arthur with Rev. Wallace Larson, pastor officiating. R. O. Lindskoog sang two requested songs "The Touch Of His Hand On Mine and He The Pearly Gates Will Open" with Helen McGee organist. Pall bearers were Reuben Carlson, Frank Lindquist, Paul Lindgren, Floyd Lindberg, Robert Nelson and Ray Yousling. Burial was in the Hayes Township cemetery.

Hilma C. Tunberg was born 2 November 1866 at Federkulla, Östergötland, Sweden and died 28 January 1958 at her home in Arthur, Iowa at the age of 91 years. She came to America in 1886. She was united in marriage to S. P. Tunberg 10 February 1887 to which five children were born, three sons and two daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband on 29 January 1930 and one son Harry on 30 January 1945 and by three grandchildren.

Her Christian life began in early girlhood days and she was a faithful pioneer member of the Arthur Evangelical Free church. She was baptized 6 May 1888. She was a devoted wife and mother not only to her family, but was a mother to many others who had lost their mothers at an early age. She was known as "Grandma" to most all youngsters of the community and loved by all who knew her. She is survived by one brother, August Lindgren of Sweden, two sons henry and Herbert of Ida Grove, Hildur of Arthur and Mrs. Hazel Soiseth of Des Moines, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
