George L. Lindstrom - (1891 - 1972)

George L. Lindstrom, son of Simon Lindstrom and Nellie Nelson Lindstrom was born on a farm in Ida County, March 7, 1891. He was united in marriage February 21, 1917, to Ellen Ogren of Kiron. Seven children were born to this union: Vincent, Donald, Wesley, Bette, Robert, Warren and Dennis. His wife and infant son Warren, preceded him in death, as well as his parents and three brothers, Anthon, Bert and VIctor.
George and Ellen farmed for many years in the Kiron area, and moved to Des moines 1947. In 1955 Mrs. Lindstrom passed away and George remained in Des Moines until 1971, when he moved to the Thomas Rest haven in Coon Rapids.
Survivors include four sons: Donald and Wesley of Kiron, Dennis of Des Moines and Robert of Portland, Oregon; two daughters Bette (Mrs. Jack Middleton) and Vivian (Mrs. Wendell Person), both of Des Moines; one brother Harry of Kiron; one sister Julia (Mrs. Newell Clauson) of Port Orchard, Washington; fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mr. Lindstrom passed away at the St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll on August 8th. Funeral services were held at the Maxwell Funeral Home in Denison on Friday, August 11 at 2 P.m. with Rev. William Walker officiating. John Winquist, soloist, sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "What A Friedn" accompanied by Mrs. Ferne Wilson, organist. Honorary bearers were Ricky Lindstrom, Kevin Lindstrom, Jerry Getter, Jeffrey Middleton and Steve Person. Pallbearers were Clayton Lindstrom, Randy Lindstrom, Jim LIndstrom, Jerry Lindstrom, John Middleton, and Thomas Person.
Interment was in the Kiron Cemetery.
