Obituary of Julia Elizabeth Lindstrom
- (1905 - 1976)
Julie Elizabeth Lindstrom Clauson, 68, passed away at the Harrison
Memorial hospital in Port Orchard, Washington, 6 February 1976.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. I. Lindstrom, born 4 August
1905 in Kiron, where she was raised, educated and taught school.
On September 2, 1932 she was married to Newell Clauson at Kiron
and they had one son and two daughters.
In 1942 they moved to Port Orchard, Washington where she served
as substitute teacher at South Collby Elementary School.
Survivors include her husband, Newell of the family home;, a son,
Edward E. Clauson, of Port Orchard;, and two daughters (Gwendolyn
A.) Mrs. Garland Wells and (Dorothy A.), Mrs. Buddy Wells, seven
grandchildren, all of Port Orchard and one brother, Harry Lindstrom
of Kiron, Preceding her in death were her parents and four brothers,
Bert, Anthon and Victor Lindstrom, all of Kiron, and George of
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 9, at 1:30 p.m.
at the Church of The Nazarene, Sydney and South, Port Orchard,
Washington with Pastor Herb Ireland officiating. Two hymns were
sung. "I'm Going Higher Some Day' and "It Will Be Worth
It All" by a soloist and mixed trio. Pallbearers were Rich
Clauson, Tom Clauson, Lowell Sederberg, Roy Sederberg, Carl Haflested,
and Charles Vandell. Burial was in Sunset Lane Cemetery.
Memorials were given to The Church of the Nazarene of which she
was a member and served as church pianist.
