Mrs. J. C. Linhult (Christina) Answers Call
Another pioneer woman was summoned from this life when Mrs. C. J. Linhult passed away at her home at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, having attained the age of 88 years and 11 months after a year's illness. Christina Linhult was born Jan 1, 1852, at Gelsta Socken, Västergötland, Sweden. In April 1881, she was married to C. J. Linhult in Sweden. On May 29, 1883, they arrived in America and settled near Odebolt. They are the parents of six daughters and one son, Elmer, who passed away 5 months ago. Surviving are her husband and daughters: Anna, Mrs. Glen Smith of Odebolt; Etti, Mrs. Artie Fink; Unga, Mrs. Wm. Schutte; Amelia, Mrs. Wm. Fink, and Mrs. Delphi Morgan, all of Chicago; and Mabel, Mrs. Al Thompson of Arthur; also seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Arthur Baptist church, Rev. A. W. Erickson conducting the service. Minnie and Evelyn Johnson sang a duet at the home, also at the church; Dennis Lindberg sang a solo. Pallbearers were John Peterson, B. A. Samuelson, Nels Bergman, Oscar Stoneberg, Arvid Huldeen and Carl Peterson. Burial was made in the Arthur Baptist cemetery. All her daughters, Mrs. Edner Linhult and Mrs. J. R. Smith of Ames attended the funeral.
