Mrs. Mabel Georgina Linhult Thompson passed away June 3, 1972 in the Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa. Funeral services were held at the Arthur Baptist Church on Tuesday morning, June 1, 1972 with the Rev. Robert Lundberg and Rev. LeRoy Carter officiating. Mrs. Oscar Olson was organist and Dennis Lindberg was soloist.
Mrs. Thompson was born April 22, 1888 in rural Kiron, daughter of C.J. and Christine Linhult. She lived most of her life in the Ida county area. In 1912 she was married to Alvin Thompson. She was an active member of the Arthur Baptist Church where she was baptized October 20, 1937. She served as secretary of the Sunday School for approximately 22 years and was active in other community activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin, one brother Edner, and three sisters, Anna, Unda, and Etta. She is survived by one daughter Myrtle, Mrs. Milford Barker Arthur; and four sons, Robert of Arthur, Willard of Denison, Wayne "Brick" of Houston, Tex., and Harris of Odebolt: two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Fink and Mrs. Delphia Morgan of Chicago, Ill.; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Interment was in the Hayes township cemetery with Arthur Palm, Donald Bergman, Duane Johnson, Burnelle Linman, Wayne Gosch, and Carl Sonichsen the attendants.
