Obituary of Edna M. Lloyd Olson - (1908 - 1994)
Funeral services for Edna Olson, 85, of Ida Grove, were at 11 a.m. Friday in the Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Ida Grove. She died Tuesday 26 April 1994 at her residence. The Rev. Marvin Lindley of the First United Methodist Church and the Rev. Robert Lundberg of the Evangelical Free Church in Arthur officiated with burial in Hayes Township Cemetery south of Arthur.
Mrs. Olson was born 26 Oct 1908 near Battle Creek the daughter of Delbert and Josephine (Welch) Lloyd. She graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1927 and worked as a billing clerk for the Ida Grove Telephone Office. On 3 May 1942 she married Ernest Raymond Olson at the United Methodist Church in Ida Grove. The couple farmed in Sac County for many years. He died in 1973 and she returned to Ida Grove. Mrs. Olson was a member of the former Arthur Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and treasurer. She was a member of the Christian Women's club and the Odebolt Arts and Crafts Club.
Survivors include: an adopted son, Dale Olson of Des Moines; an adopted daughter, Shirley Munsinger of Omaha, Nebraska; a granddaughter; a great granddaughter; five sisters, Pearl and Frances Lloyd of Ida Grove, Fern Lloyd of Denver, Colo., Merle Burton of Battle Creek and Mabel Shever of Cushing; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Amber and Viola Lloyd; a brother, Joseph Lloyd; and two sisters in infancy.
