Carolyn Lundberg Ecklund -- born 12 Oct 1872 -- died 21 Dec 1949
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Dec 23, 1949 at the Kiron Baptist church for Mrs. Carolyn Ecklund with Rev. Orville Johnson officiating.
Carolyn Lundberg Ecklund was born in Manitou Island, Mich. 12 October 1872. When she was three years old she moved with her parents to Sac county, Iowa where she grew to womanhood. On Feb. 26, 1890 she was united in marriage to Nels Ecklund.
To this union were born ten children, five boys and five girls. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, George and Everett.
She was baptized and joined the Arthur Baptist church later, transferring her membership to the Kiron Baptist church.
She spent most of her life in Ida, Sac and Crawford counties in Iowa. She was a kind and loving mother, always thinking of the welfare of her family. She was of a quiet nature, but loved her Bible and church and attended as often as she could.
She passed away 21 Dec 1949 at the Ida Grove hospital after a short illness. She had reached the age of 77 years, 2 months and eight days.
Mrs. Ecklund is survived by her eight children: Mrs. Oscar Finstrom (Myrtle), Ruth and Enoch, all of Kiron; Russell, Denison; Mrs. R. E. Lewis (Agnes), Des Moines; Mrs. P. H. Quimby (Arlene), Omaha: Mrs. E. T. Madison (Mabel ) of Omaha; Theodore, Hastings, Neb.
In addition there are 20 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Augusta Johnson, and hosts of friends.
