Mrs. Anna Lundgren Youngquist Obituary - Oct 1937 - Gowrie, Iowa  -- Kiron News clipping

Mrs. Anna Lundgren-Youngquist was born in Sweden, June 10, 1867, and passed away in the Lake City hospital, Tuesday, Oct 26, 1937. Mrs. Youngquist's health began to fail about 6 months ago, but did not become serious until some weeks ago. She was confined to the hospital 6 weeks before her death.
She came to America in 1880, and in 1888 was united in marriage to A. G. Youngquist of Gowrie. For many years they lived on their farm northeast of Gowrie, until later years, when they retired from active life and moved into Gowrie. Mr. Youngquist passed away several years ago.
To this union was born four sons Victor H. Youngquist of Kiron, Arthur, Alvin, and Oscar, all of Gowrie, and one daughter, Evelyn, Mrs. Perry Wells of Des Moines. Beside these she is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Diebold of San Francisco, Cal., and one brother, Chas. Lundgren of Estherville, Iowa, five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
In 1887 Mrs. Youngquist was baptized and became affiliated with the Baptist church in Gowrie where she was a faithful member and worker until that church dissolved when she transfered her membership to the Stratford Baptist church.
Mrs. Youngquist lived a beautiful Christian life,. She had made many warm friends here during visits in the home of her son Victor.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon from the home and the Methodist church with Rev. Turnwall of Chicago officiating, assisted by Rev. Walker of Gowrie, Rev. Sorley of Stratford and Rev. W. W. Johnson of Kiron. Rev. Johnson sang a solo and two numbers were given by a mixed quartette from Gowrie. The pallbearers were the four sons and two nephews. There was a profusion of beautiful floral tributes.
Interment was made in the family plot in the Gowrie Cemetery.
