Emma Augusta Lundgren (1867 - 1925)
Mrs. Albert Peterson's Mother Taken By Death
Emma Augusta Lundgren, daughter of Olof and Karolina Lundgren was born in Eksjö, Jönköpings län Småland, Sweden, 2 April 1867. She came to America in 1889 and was married 16 August 1890 to C. P. Lundgren at Storm Lake, Iowa. To this union were born five children. Three of whom with the father survive. Two of the children died in infancy. The surviving children are Britta, wife of Albert Peterson of near Kiron, Iowa; George and Thelma at home near Odebolt, Iowa. Also 5 grandchildren. A stepmother and two half-sisters still live in Sweden and two brothers Albert and Axel Lundgren in Canada. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Eksjö, Sweden, 1882.
Shortly after her arrival in America she joined the Lutheran church at Alta, Iowa by letter. In her church she was a true and faithful worker, a most conscientious member.
She passed away from her loved ones at her home Sunday, 5 July 1925, at 2:40 p.m. at the age of 58 years 3 months and 3 days.
The funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in Odebolt, Iowa conducted by the Rev. E. Glad. Burial was made at Alta, Iowa.
