Passing of Mrs. E. Nordell
Elizabeth Angelina Norelius Nordell was born on November 3rd,
1864 at Cambridge, Isanti County, Minnesota. She passed away on
Wednesday, October 27, 1943 at the age of 78 years, 11 months
and 24 days.
On March 29th, 1884 she was united in Holy Matrimony by the Rev.
L. J. Ahlstrom, to Peter Erik Nordell. She is survived to mourn
her passing by: One brother, G. A. Norelius, Kiron, Ia.: five
sons, Rudolph Nordell, Samoa, Calif.; Elmer Nordell, Omaha, Nebr.;
Robert Nordell, Omaha, Nebr.; Leland Nordell, Ida Grove, Ia: Evan
Nordell, Oklahoma City, Okla.; five daughters, Alice Winnstrom
and Ethel Nordell of Long Beach, Calif.; Margaret Mitchell, Kansas
City, Mo; Josephine Brown, Keokuk, Ia; Lucille Carlberg, Cherokee,
Ia; Eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband and by one child, Nettie,
who died in infancy.
A short funeral service was held at 11 o'clock Monday morning
from the Methodist church in Galva, conducted by the pastor. Two
beautiful hymns were sung by a mixed quartette/ The remains were
then taken to Kiron where funeral services were held in the Baptist
church at 2:30 conducted by the pastor, Rev. S. Bruce Fleming.
Two more beautiful hymns were sung in duett by Mrs. S. B. Fleming
and Miss Elaine Larson, accompanied at the piano by Miss Velma
Larson. A large bank of beautiful floral offerings engulfed the
casket bespeaking the high esteem of the departed.
Mrs. Nordell, with her family, for many years made her home in
Old Kiron where her children grew to young manhood and young ladyhood,
later moving to Minnesota with her husband and younger children
for a short period. For the past fifteen or twenty years she has
made her home in Galva where she cared for her aged father, Mr.
Andrew Norelius, until his departure from this life.
Pallbearers here were R. A. Buller, E. L. Miller, P. E. Hedstrom,
Art Jacobson, Russell Linman and H. L. Ward.
Interment was in the Kiron cemetery.

and Miss Ethel Nordell, Long Beach, Calif; Margaret Mitchel, Kansas
City; Josephine Brown, Keokuk, Iowa; Lucille Carlberg, Darrold
Carlberg and Mrs. Fred Casey of Cherokee; Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Nordell
and Janice, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Nordell, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. McSorley
and Mr. J. F. Gilligan of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Leland Nordell of
Ida Grove, Miss Shirley Nordell, Sioux City; Mrs. Leslie Clauson,
Ames, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Carlberg and Mrs. Phillis Knapp, Galva;
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Norelius, Denison; Mrs. C. E. Morton and
Hellen Ann, Denison; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Moline, Odebolt.
