LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. SEGRID MARTHA OLSON
Segrid Martha Lindquist was born in Stodde, Sweden, Nov. 21, 1860.
At an early age she sought Jesus Christ as her personal Savior
and became a member of the Baptist church there. She was among
the early settlers in Ida County and there spent most of the years
of her life.
She was united in Holy matrimony to Swan M. Lindquist who preceded
her in death in 1909. One daughter, Meadie Arleen, passed away
in 1918. After years of failing health she passed quietly away
on Saturday Nov. 20, 1943. Had she lived a few hours longer she
would have observed her 83rd birthday. God called her to spend
her birthday in heaven.
She is survived and mourned by her daughters, Mrs. Vernie Winquist,
Miss Winnie Linquist and Mrs. Ethel Larson, one son, Earl Linquist,
four grandchildren, Mrs. Mildred Walters of Los Angeles, Calif.
Cpl. John Winquist, U. S. Air Corps, Alliance, Nebr, Cpl, Dwight
Winquist, U. S. Air Corps, somewhere in England, and John Larson
of Des Moines. She is also survived by one brother in Sweden,
one cousin, Mrs. Ereka Larson of Kiron, nieces, nephews and many
Mrs. Lindquist was a mother who assumed all the duties and obligations
entrusted to her. There was perhaps no spot so dear and close
to her as her home. The joy of her life was expressed through
the tender , intelligent, sympathetic concern she had for her
own. It can truly be said, and that without extravagant eulogy,
that she gave her best to make others happy.
Mrs. Lindquist was deeply interested in everything that pertained
to the church. She was always true to her Savior. Her true Christian
character did much to bring joy to the despondent, hope to the
discouraged and friendship to the lonely.
Funeral services were held from the home Tuesday afternoon at
1:30 o'clock and from the Baptist church in Kiron at 2 o'clock,
Rev. S. Bruce Fleming officiating. Singing was rendered by Mr.
and Mrs. R. O. Lindskoog.
The church was filled with people who came to pay their last respects
to the departed sister.
The pall bearers were Edwin Carlson, Henry Johnson, George Carlson,
Edwin Turin, Addic Anderson and C. B. Larson.
Interment was made in the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery.
