Funeral Services For Mrs. Chris Koch (Anna Pipgrass)Held At Stockholm Twp. -- Kiron News clipping
Mrs. Chris Koch passed away at the memorial hospital in Denison
on Thursday, October 19, 1961 following a lingering illness. Before
entering the hospital she had been cared for in the home of Mrs.
Esther Crook. She had reached the age of 73 years.
Anna Pipgrass Koch, daughter of Johannes and Katherine nee Hagge, Pipgrass was born September 24th, 1888 in Schleswig, Germany. She came to the States in 1909. She was united in marriage to Chris Koch on December 15, 1909. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary December 1959.
Five children were born to this union, four sons and one daughter. Henry and Richard died in infancy, Herbert lost his life in the 2nd World War during the European Invasion.
Survivors are her husband, (Elsie) Mrs Lowell Bilsten, Witchita, Kansas, Erich of Boyer. Two step sons, John Koch of Kiron and Clarence Cadman of Phornix, Arizonia, three grand sons, two granddaughters, four great granddaughters and one great grandson. One brother, Johannes Pipgrass of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, her parents and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 23rd at 2:30 p.m. from St. Johns Lutheran church in Stockholm Township. Rev. Robert Cordes officiating. A ladies quartett, Mrs. Robert Cordes, Mrs. Albert Gronau, Mrs. Milt Giermann and Mrs. Ralph Schultz sang "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "For Me to Live is Jesus."
Pallbearers were: Kenneth Cadman, Elroy Koch, Loel Koch, William Drews, Dennis Koch and Verlin Koch. Interment was in St. Johns Lutheran cemetery.
