Fritz Christian William Quade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Quade, deceased, was born Nov., 30, 1898 in Stockholm township, and died at the age of 38 years, 9 months and 23 days. He opened deaths door and passed from this life Sept. 23, 1937. He was confirmed March 16, 1913 in St. John's Lutheran church in Stockholm township.
On the 11th day of August 1920 he was united in marriage to Miss Ardyne Skarin of Ida County. They spent several years near Comfry, Minnesota where they engaged in farming. The past 9 years they have made their home in this locality.
Eight years ago he suffered the loss of one of his legs, but in spite of his handicap he was an ambitious worker and provider for his family. He is held in loving memory by his family as a good father and husband.
He is survived by his wife and one son, Edmund, six brothers, Chris of Council Bluffs, Iowa, John of Omaha, Nebraska, Ed, Vertus and Albert of Kiron, Richard of Springfield, Minnesota, three sisters, Annie, Mrs. Alfred Tews of Springfield, Minnesota, Sophia, Mrs. Aug. Hansohn of Comfrey, Minnesota and Lizzie, Mrs. William Hansohn of Charter Oak, Iowa, also his aged mother-in-law, Mrs. Anna Skarin, and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the home at 2 o'clock from the Ev. Free church, conducted by Rev. Walfred Johnson, pastor of the Baptist church. The church was filled and a loud speaker was placed in the basement parlors to accommodate the overflow crowd. A men's quartette composed of Jubel and Paul Hedstrom, Kenneth Johnson and Harry Lindstrom, sang "Abide With Me" and "Nearer My God to Thee," with Fern Johnson at the piano. There were many beautiful floral tributes. The pallbearers were, Everett Gronau, Fred Gierman, Leslie Schiernbeck, Arthur Jacobson, I. M. Canada and Randolph Buller. Interment was made in the Kiron Cemetery.
Relatives from a distance attending the funeral beside the afore mentioned and their families were, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Nutt, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Owen and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. John Masters and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd masters of Winnebago, Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Skarin, Jr. of Amboy, Minn. Mrs. Mike Christensen and Beatrice Masters of Sheldon, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Skarin, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Loomer, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Warner and Larry and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Salmon of Arthur, and Mr. and Mrs. Eric Johnson of Odebolt. Many attended from Boyer, Schleswig, Denison and Odebolt.
