Services Held At St. John's

KIRON...Edward Christian Herman Schultz, son of the late Fritz and Amelia (Lutz) Schultz was born January 7, 1900, in Crawford County, Iowa, and died at the Horn Memorial Hospital, Ida Grove, Iowa, Saturday, February 10, 1973, after brief illness having attained the age of 73 years, 2 months and 3 days.
Mr. Schultz was born and raised on a farm, attended rural schools. He was baptized and confirmed in the Frieden'sss church at Schleswig, Iowa. He has been a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Stockholm Township, for the past 46 years. He served as Cemetery sexton many years.
Mr. Schultz was married to Lilly Pithan of Boyer, Iowa, December 22, 1926, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Stockholm Township. To this union two children were born. They made their home on a farm near Kiron. They retired to Krion 12 years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, three brothers, Fred, Herman and Emil and two sisters, Marie and Anna.
Survivors include his wife; Lilly, one son, Burdell of Kiron; one daughter Mavis, Mrs. Leonard Benson, of Kiron; six grandchildren; three brothers, William and John of Denison, Marvin of Manilla; and one sister, Roma, Mrs. Henry Friedrichsen, of Schleswig.
Funeral services were held at the St. John's Lutheran church, Stockholm Township Monday afternoon, February 12, 1973 with Rev. Emil Zmijewski officiating. Miss Lois Gronau was organist and accompanied soloist Wayne Lindskoog who sang "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art".
Pallbearers were Kermit Benson, George Pithan, John Schultz Jr., Quentin Norelius, LeRoy Salmon, and Adelbert Sjogren.
Interment was in the St. John's Cemetery.
