FRITZ SCHULTZ DIES FROM INJURY
While cutting down trees with his sons, Fred and Marvin, near
his Schleswig home, Fritz Schultz, 76, was caught under a falling
branch Wednesday, March 9th. Three broken ribs brought about his
death Friday morning.
Fritz Johannes Schultz was born in Provice Brandenburg, Germany,
Oct. 13, 1861. In 1885 he married Amelia Lutz with whom he came
to America in 1891. Mrs. Schultz preceded him in death in 1926.
To this union twelve children were born, three dying in infancy,
and Anna, Mrs. Fred Detlefs, passing away in 1932, and Marie,
Mrs. Martha Helmberger, in 1937. This leaves to mourn six sons,
Willie of Denison, Fred Herman, John and Marvin of Kiron, and
Ed of Boyer; a daughter Roma, Mrs. Henry Friedrichsen, of Schleswig;
also 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
His forty-six years in America were spent in farming in Otter
Creek township. His last years he made his home with his sons
Fred and Marvin, on the home place.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, March 14, from the
Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev. E. F. Schwidder in charge.
Burial in the Morgan township cemetery.
The six sons were pallbearers.
