Bruce William Skarin

KIRON: Bruce William Skarin, 60, a resident of Kiron died at his home Thursday morning 20 July 1978, death attributed to an apparent heart attack. Bruce was born 18 March 1918 in Ida County the son of Carl Axle and Effie Mauritz Skarin. At an early age Bruce moved with his parents to a farm near Kiron and lived in the Kiron area most of his life. He attended rural schools and graduated from Kiron High School with the Class of 1936.
On November 30, 1942 Bruce was united in marriage to Marguerite Colbut at Papillion, Nebraska. They had one son. Bruce was employed in farming. He was a member of the Kiron Baptist church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Skarin. Survivors include his wife Marguerite and son Bernard of Kiron; one brother, LaMont of Denison; two sisters, Mrs. Elmira Paulson of Kingsley, and (Leola) Mrs. Art Gress of Charter Oak; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Kiron Baptist church with Rev. Gary Clark officiating. "How Great Thow Art" and "He The Pearly Gates Will Open" were sung by John Winquist. Mrs. Ferne Wilson was organist. Attendants were : Howard Anderson, Seldon Buller, Chester Ogren, Marvin Stehr, Arnold Lundell and Allen Ogren.
Burial was at the Kiron Cemetery, arrangements by Maxwell Funeral Home at Denison.
