Funeral Service For Edna Celia Swanson, Mrs. Obrecht, Held At Evangelical Church

Mrs. Ben Obrecht of Kiron passed away quietly and unexpectedly in her sleep on Friday morning, October 13th, 1961. Memorial services were held Monday, October 16th from the Evangelical Free church at Kiron.
Edna Cecelia Obrecht was born June 20, 1893 at Kiron to the union of Peter Swanson and Mary Olson. Her parents were pioneer residents of the Kiron community. She lived her entire life in the community of her birth.
On February 12, 1924 she was united in marriage to Ben Obrecht of Ida Grove. To this union two children were born, Gayle and Benjamin.
Mrs. Obrecht is survived by her two sons, Gayle of Onawa and Benjamin of Ida Grove and seven grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother, Ted Swanson of Sioux City and three sisters, Mabel Swanson of Osceola; Mrs Oscar Ericson of Denison; and Mrs. Ralph Sterling of Sioux City.
Reverend Wallace Larson officiated at the memorial service. Mrs. Lloyd Benson sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond The Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Richard Gustafson.
Pallbearers were Wayne Swanson, Gage Swanson, Norris Ericson, Fred Schurke, Roy Hamann and Ben Hamann. Burial was at the Kiron cemetery.
