Al Thompson Dies of Heart Attack
Al Thompson age 69, died last Wednesday afternoon after suffering a heart attack at his home. Funeral services were held at 2 O'clock Saturday afternoon at the Arthur Baptist Church. Burial was in the Hayes Township cemetery. Alvin Thompson was born April 23,18901 at Horten, Norway to Axel and Ingridberg Truelson. He spent his childhood in Norway and was confirmed there. On December 28,1906 he arrived in the United States and worked around the Chicago area for two years before coming here. He farmed until his health became a problem five years ago. He married Mabel Linhult March 2,1912 and to them five children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alf Truelsen. His wife, daughter Myrtle (Mrs. Milford Barker), and sons Robert, Willard and Wayne and a grandchild Harris survive him. He also has three half-sisters, Kaja Blackmore, Marie Beck and Sine Hansen, and two half-brothers, Edgar Hansen and Rhinehart Hansen.
