Rolla Dean Thrailkill Dies While Harvesting
Rolla Thrailkill, age 61 of Arthur, died while harvesting his crop Tuesday, October 26, 1971 of an apparent heart attack.
Services were held 30 Oct 1971 at the Christensen Funeral Home in Ida Grove with Rev. Robert Lindberg of Arthur officiating.
Interment was in the Hayes Township Cemetery.
Rolla Dean Thrailkill, 61, of rural Arthur passed away suddenly of a heart attack, at his home Tuesday evening, 26 October 1971.
Rolla was born to Theodore and Della Thrailkill on 16 June 1910 at Macks Creek, Missouri and lived his childhood in this area. At the age of sixteen he left his home to seek employment in Kansas City. He came to Iowa at the age of nineteen, where a love for the farm led him to a career in agriculture. He spent the last 34 years of his life farming in Cook and Richland Townships, Sac County, Iowa.
On 28 February 1937 he was united in marriage to Gladys Carlson of ida Grove, Iowa. Two sons, Richard and Roger, were born to this union.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and an infant sister. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Gladys, his sons Richard of Ames and Roger of Laurens; daughters-in-law, Linda and Connie, a grandson, Ryan; two brothers, Claude of Climax Springs, Missouri, and John of Denver, Colorado; three sisters, Grace of Denver, Colorado, Georgia of Bolivar, Missouri, and Leta of Beverly Hills, California; nephews, nieces and other relatives and a host of friends.
