Mrs. Christina Bergstrom was suddenly called away in death at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. H. Buller, here in Kiron Monday evening, Nov. 6. She had been well and strong until after dinner the same day when she felt some pain in her chest, still she was up and around until 5:30 when the doctor was called. Her condition was considered just a temporary ailment, but at 7:20 she breathed her last. How little one knows of his future.

Mrs. Bergstrom was born in Hassela soken, Gefleborgs Lan, Sweden, August 9, 1844,(parents = Eric Younglof and Anna Hansdotter) where she was also united in marriage to Andrew Bergstrom, Oct. 28, 1865. Seven years later she accompanied her husband to America, living at Lynn Center, Henry County, Ill, and two years at Cambridge, Ill., From there they moved to this community in 1897. Her husband was called away in death Nov. 29, 1920. Since then she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. R. H. Buller. She was at the time of her death 78 years, 2 months, 28 days of age.

Nearly 56 years of her life has she enjoyed the blessed assurance of being a child of God. Shortly after her conversion in 1866 she dedicated her life to Christ in baptism and has been a faithful and devoted Christian, being a member of the Baptist church at Hassela: Rock Island, Ill.; Arthur and Kiron. She was present with us in church last Sunday for the last time. The interest of her soul was in church and Christian worship. She had a quiet nature and a lovely disposition making friends with all whom she associated.

She leaves to mourn, six children, Mrs. Anna Norelius, Mrs. Sadie Buller, and Ed Bergstrom of Kiron; Mrs. Emma Ehret of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Edna Ragsdale, of Oakland, Cal., and John Bergstrom, St. Croix Falls, Wis, 13 grand children, 2 great grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Cecilia Bergman of Cushing, Minn., and a brother, Erick Vallner in Sweden besides many other relatives, members of the Baptist church here and a large circle of friends.  The funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 o’clock at the home and 1:30 at the Baptist church. Rev. B. Clover and Rev. E. J. Nordlander will assist her pastor, Rev. C. I. Peterson, in the services.
