Of this union four children were born, three daughters and one son. The son preceded him in death in 1916, and the wife many years before. (1836 - 15 May 1870). The daughters are Mrs. Mira (Myra) Thornton, of Owasa; Mrs. Ruth Thornton, of New Providence, and Miss Lenna Lunday, who is still at home. He returned to the farm and lived in Iowa the rest of his days.
According to an old diary Levi and his brother James Lundy with their families driving ten yoke of oxen plus the dairy stock, arrived at the crossing on Honey Creek in Providence twp on July 18 1856. An 1875 Atlas shows a saw- mill was on the north side of this crossing on Honey Creek built sometime after 1856 and previous to 1875 by Jeremiah and Perry Hadley. James continued to travel about 2 more miles farther west to the western side of section 23, where on August 1856 he purchased of James Fitzgerald 148 acres of land for $2500. The Chester Preparative Meeting of Friends was organized in 1869 and James Lundy was of the first members. It was written by Frank Clampitt about the Hardin County area that when children were coming into the world it was the general practice to call in a certain "Aunt" Lucy Lundy or "Aunt Lucinda Benbow" who did all that was necessary to be done in such cases, just as a neighborly accomodation. Lucy (Gage) Lundy passed away in 1877. James took for his 2nd wife in 1878 Fanny (Kinsey) Kinzer, widow of Jacob Kinzer, + dau of Christopher and Mary Kinsey.

Samuel + Missouri had a big, beautiful farm right on the Ohio river, near a train trestle. As far as grandson Tom knows, they lived there all their lives.spouse: Thornton, Missouri (~1870 - )Once, when visiting with his father (Dallas), grandson Tom crawled up on the train trestle in order to see under a passing train. Dallas let him, knowing what would happen. As soon as the train was passing right over Tom, it let off steam, soaking him.
On another visit, Dallas and Tom were walking the path toward the farm. Dallas was drunk and carrying a big box of candy bars for Glenn. He fell off the path, down the steep hill, scattering the candy bars everywhere.

OBRA page 66 See note under King Stephen (1853) For some two months William was the guest of King Stephen while the royal army lay before Newbury. One day as the king sat in a tent strewn with varicolored flowers William wandered about picking plantains. When the boy had gathered a fair number he asked the king to play "knights" with him. Each of them would take a 'knight' or plantain, and strike it against the one held by the other. The victory would go to the player who with his knight struck off the clump of leaves representing the head of his opponent's champion. When Stephen redily agreed to play, William gave him a bunch of plantains and aske him to decide who should strike first. The amiable king gave William the first blow with the result that the royal champion lost his head.
