GAY FAMILY out of Gaysport, Blue Rock, Muskingum CO. Ohio.

 

 

Nancy Gay born 1835/1836 in Gaysport/Blue Rock marries

Andrew Perone born 1835 in Germany at Zanesville Ohio,

Muskingum CO. February 18, 1856.

 

This is the 2nd marriage for Andrew Perone.  They have five children:

 

Ida Perone august 21, 1857-Jan 3, 1929

William Perone 1859-April 25, 1934

Eliza Dora Perone Dec 23, 1861-oct 12, 1907

Ernest Perone      1865 to 1911

Magdalen Peron   1867 to 1950

 

 

Nancy Gay's parents were Asa Gay, Jr. and Eliza Gay.

Asa Gay was born ard 1802/1805, died between 1880-1890in Muskingum Co., Ohio.

Asa was born in Massachusetts mother born in Ireland.

 

Eliza Gay was born 1810 in Ohio and died between 1880-1890.  They lived long lives.

Nancy born 1835

Aminta born 1837

Sarah born 1841

Elizabeth born 1843

Deborah A. born 1852

James born 1853

John born 1854

Allin born 1867

 

They were farmers and owned a great deal of land in Muskingum CO., Ohio

 

Asa Gay's Father, Asa Gay Sr., was born 1773 died around 1851 in Blue Rock, Muskingum co., Ohio.

Wife born in Ireland and died before 1850.

 

The Name Asa Gay goes way back to Massachusetts to Needham.  I am able to trace family back to there to possible relative Asa Gay marrying Isabella Brownley, but still sorting out the direct line. 

 

I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA (family still there), but living in Alabama so not able to search records in Ohio manually. The Ohio Gay branch married into the Perones, then Schunks, then Fox.

 

I have pictures from old tin-type of Nancy Gay and husband soon after marriage and later in life.  The Gay's in our family loved to take photos!  We had them copied and they turned out great.
