These pension records are at the National Archives in Washington, DC and

can be obtained by filling out a NATF-80 form (available by request

through the National Archives Web Site or most LDS Family History

Centers have the form).  The cost of the pension file is $10.  until

Sept when they plan to increase the price to about $40.  These pension

files usually contain a wealth of information about the soldier and his

family and are well worth obtaining.

1917; soldier served 1866-1867; died Oct 19, 1910 at Provo, UT  (pension

# WC-11000)

 

Albert Gay  (widow Mary A.)  applied for a pension in Utah  Sept 9,

1903;  widow applied Aug 1, 1916 in Utah;  soldier died June 29, 1916 at

Joseph, UT  (pension # WC-8338  and SC-6143 )

 

Ambrose Gay  (widow Maggie)  alias Gar Zay (or Zar Gay?) applied for a

pension in Arizona Mar 19, 1925;  widow applied Dec 18, 1825; soldier

served 1885-1886, died April 2, 1925 near Ft. Apache

 

James L. Gay  (widow Mary Ann)  applied for a pension in Mississippi

Dec 9, 1915; soldier served in 1856 in Florida Mounted Volunteers, died

Aug 29, 1892 at Damascus, MS  (pension # WC-8362)

 

Joel Gay (widow Eliza) applied for pension in Georgia  Aug 4, 1899;

widow applied in Georgia  Jan 10, 1916; soldier served in Florida

1917; widow applied in Utah Jan 23, 1922; soldier served in 1867; died

Dec 28, 1921 at Ogden City, UT  (pension # SC-8750 and WC-10177)

 

Joseph W. Gay  applied for pension in Oregon Oct 29, 1902, died Feb 7,

1922 in Tappmish, Washington (pension # SC-4425)
