At the Court of Probate ___ at Sharon & for the District of Sharon on the
3rd day of Sept 1792 precinct ___ Porter ___ ____ of same Luther Gay, Calvin
Gay and John Banks Gay nominated executors in the Last Will & Testament of
Mr. John Gay late of Sharon hereof appointed executors & will which will
after having the ____ was proved apprised & ordered to be recorded & keep on
file & the D Luther, Calvin and John Banks accepted ___ ____ ____ based of
____ ___ for thine faithful accounting D will according to law.

The Last Will of John Gay late of Sharon Deceased

In the name of God Amen the 9th Day of June 1791
I John Gay of Sharon in the County of Litchfield & State of Connecticut
being of sound mind & memory blessed be to God for the same, calling to mind
my own mortality & knowing it is appointed unto all men ___ to die to make &
ordain this my last will & testament I commend my soul to God who gave it me
& my body to the dust to be buried with a decent Christian burial in full
belief that at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by
the Mighty Power of God. And as ___ my worldly estate that hath pleased God
to bless me with in this life, I dispose of in the following manner and
form.

Impremis. To my daughter Anne Buck I give one pound to be paid in produce
within two years after my decease.

Item. To my daughter Sarah Everett I give five shillings over and above over
and above what she hath already had out of my estate to be paid in two years
after my decease to be paid in produce.

Item. To my daughter Elona Sloson I give five shillings over and above what
she hath already had out of my estate to be paid in two years after my
decease to be paid in produce.

Item. To Elizabeth Gay my son Ebenezer's widow, I give one cow to be paid
within a year after my decease & five sheep within five years after my
decease & five pounds to be paid in produce in three years after my decease.

Item. To Elizabeth Meggs Lang __ Bissells' daughter I give ten shillings to
be paid in moneys in two years after my decease over and above what my
daughter Bissell's decease hath had out of my estate.

Item. To Ebenezer Gay son to my son Ebenezer Gay late deceased I give five
pounds to be paid in produce in five years after my decease.

Item. To Fisher Gay son to my son Ebenezer Gay late deceased I give ten
pounds to be paid in produce when he shall arrive at the age of twenty-one
years.

Item. To Almira Gay daughter to my son Ebenezer Gay late of
Sharon deceased
I give three pounds to be paid in produce to be paid twenty shillings a ___
___ until the whole is paid.

Item. To Eunice Gay & Margret Gay both daughters to my son Ebenezer Gay late
of
Sharon deceased I give two pounds apiece as they should arrive at the age
of Eighteen Years to be paid in produce.

Item to Edward Gay son to my son Perez Gay late of
Sharon deceased I give
five pounds provided he doth not take a double portion of his fathers estate
to be paid in produce in three years after my decease.

Item. To Electa Gay & Margret Gay both daughters to my son Perez Gay late of
Share deceased I give one pound a piece to be paid in produce in two syears
after my death.

Item. To Luese Gay, Elizabeth Gay & Lucretia Gay the daughters to my son
Peres Gay late of Sharon deceased I give one pound a piece to be paid to
them as they shall arrived to the age of eighteen years to be paid in
produce.

All the rest of my estate that I shall ____ of both real & personal I give
to my gradson Luther Gay Calvin Gay & John Banks Gay to be equally divided
between them after my ___ & ___ funeral charges which I have given to my
other children is filled & paid with the providing for their ____ mother
Margaret Gay my son Peres Gay widow. ___ my making a will is that should be
decently supported out of the ___ of my estate ______ that is convenient &
with every other ____ to make her comfortable with the ____ in ___ & to ___
her with a ___ __ to ride when ever she shall want during her life ___so
long as she shall remain my sons widow.

For this ___ I ___ my grandsons Luther, Calvin, and John Banks Gay to be the
executors of this my last will & testament & I do hereby revoke all former
wills & instruments by me made & _______ this & no other to be my last will
& testament & this 3rd day of June 1791 I ____ I have hereunto let my hand &
seal signed declared public ___ & delivered by the _____ John Gay to be his
last will & testament in presence of
