In the name of God Amen: I Samuel Gay Sen. of the county of Albemarle and State of Virginia: being weak of body, but of sound mind and memory and understanding. do mate this my last will and testament hereby revokingall former wills by me, make and acclaiming this the only true one as follows: Imprim - I recommend my soul to the mercy of God and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named. Item 1 - After the discharge of my just debts. I wish my estate disposed of in the following manner. Item 2nd. - I give to my Granddaughter Eliza Ann Gay eighty dollars in cash and two feather beds and furniture. Item 3rd. - After the payment of the above eighty dollars. I wish an equal divison of my Estate made among my children and in case the advances I have made to my children and [wordl property to dispose of should not effect an equal division, those that have received the greatest advances are Ltol pay back so as to make it equal, the advances spoken of can be seen by reference to my book kept for that purpose. Lastly I appoint my son Samuel Gay as my executor [2 wordsl, this my last will and testament into effect. - In [wordl whence I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th day of December, one thousand and eight hundred and twenty eight.
