A student of theology, he received a certificate of theology 25 Jul 1821.
Licensed 16 Oct 1822 by Presbytery of Philadelphia @@ Doylestown meeting.
Received by Erie Presbytery in 2 Mar 1825 having preached for some time
previous to this in Warren Co, PA. Pastor of Warren, Sugar Grove, Great
Brokenstraw & Lottsville. On 22 Jun 1826 was with Presbytery of Hartford,
OH; and then Youngstown, OH for three years. Hartford dismission 5 Oct 1830.
On 1 Jan 1831 appointed to Ridley, Delaware Co, PA. In 1850 in New Orleans.
Buried Presbyterian Cemetery @@ Abington, Montgomery, PA.

History Of Trumbull and Mahoning Counties, Ohio, Vol II, p 379-380. "...from
1826 till 1829 Rev. Nathan Harned acted in that (supply) capacity. Mr Harned
was a native of Rockingham county, Virginia, and was born in 1789. His name
first appears on the records of the Erie Presbytery in 1824. The following
year he was ordained pastor of the Warren, Great Brokenstian, Lottsville, and
Sugar Grove congregations in Pennsylvania. In 1826 he joined the Hartford
Presbytery and was called to Youngstown as stated supply. Failing health
compelled him to resign his charge in 1829. His ministerial labors really
ceased here, although he frequently preached and acted as a supply whenever his
health would permit. He died in New York in 1854, of disease of the heart,
cancer of the stomach and hydrothorax."

Notes

On Jan. 10, 1804, Nathaniel Harned sold to Jonathan Harned, 50 acres on
Vertrees Creek, Hardin Co., KY. he united with the Union Baptist Church, Feb.
22, 1822, and was dismissed Mar., 1826, at which time he seems to have moved to
Breckinridge Co., KY. But on July 5, 1851, he again united with Union Church
(by letter), and died soon after. Verification of death date on 17 Jul 1992 by
