Yvonne Syers Rich, THE HARNED FAMILY 2nd Ed, Sacramento, CA.
He was wounded at the Battle of The Wilderness. He was left propped against
a tree, and it was three days before a Southern doctor gave him any
attention. He died from his wounds and is buried in the Gettysburg
Cemetery. There is a monument erected to the 7th Wisconsin Volunteers
there and a memorial carved on it in his memory.
