I am looking for Henry Harvey who was a lawyer in Bristol at the time three of his sons left in the British Navy. One apparently jumped ship in Australia (Charles born 1844) and the other jumped ship in New Zealand (Henry Harvey Jr). Apparently Henry Harvey Snr had a wife who used to run a small guest house. So far neither family has been able to track down the appropriate Henry Harvey who was the father of Charles, Henry, Sidney (also went to Australia we are told) and 3 other children whose names are unknown. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have a Joseph Harvey, b. 1833 in the Black Country, perhaps Birmingham, Stourbridge or Stoke (UK) ?
My father Edward Cecil (Coker) Harvey was born in Devon, England around 1923. Harvey may have been his mother's or father's surname - it's not certain that they were married. His mother's first name may have been Ada? He may have had a brother who died in WW2? Legend has it that his uncle, Silas, was the first person in England to be killed in an agricultural accident involving a tractor! Is all this garbage or could it make a connection?
I am researching a Harvey family in England. My great-grandmother was Emma Harvey - b. 1832, Birmingham, England - she married Edwin Webb 1856 in Aston. They emigrated to the U.S. about 1873 where they lived in Kings County, Brooklyn, New York, at 322-20th Street. Emma's father was Richard Harvey who married Eliza Thomas - 1826, Leicestershire, England, daughter of William and Elizabeth Thomas. His father was Richard Harvey - his mother Dorothy Summers - and they lived in the Parish of Netherseal in the County of Leicester, England. I am reasonably sure that I have relatives here in the US since several children came over with the parents. Their names were Ernst, Maud A. Edmond, Emily, Louisa Helen and John. Louisa Helen was my grandmother who married Frederick A. Miller in 1891, in Brooklyn. Any information on this family either in the US or England greatly appreciated.

I have my late uncle's research tracing the family back to the villages ofTivetshall St Mary and Tibenham in Norfolk, the family of George Harvey (1841/1895) whose parents were William Harvey (1781/1870) and Jane Bentfield (1796/1870). Prior to that we believe that the family goes back to the Harveys of Dickleburgh (Norfolk) and Thomas Harvey(Wingfield - Norfolk c. 1560).
I have a fairly comprehensive family tree back to William Harvey, but little prior to that.
The most interesting factor is the old family rumour that we are somewhere related to Abraham Lincoln...! We have a different coat of arms recorded which is yellow with a red chevron. In heraldic terms it is "Or, a chevron gules, in chief two leopards' heads of the last." Harvey came from the old French name Haerveu and was introduced into Britain at the time of the Norman conquest. The Domesday Book records its Latin name of Herveus. My grandfather left Norfolk to work in Hull, and my father left Hull to work in London. I now live in Lincoln, England
I was brought up in London.
