A family story was written by Marilyn Lake Landreth in 1979 and shared at
a Harvey family reunion in Cherokee, OK, which inspired Roy Harvey Smith
to gather and compile all information on descendants of Isaac Newton Harvey
and his wife, Lucinda Minerva Anderson Harvey. He was able to accomplish
this before his death in 1992. Marilyn Lake Landreth had told Roy that she
would get his material and her own in book form. Follow the saga of the
Harvey's as they halp settle the new world with William's arrival in Pennsylvania
to Isaac Harvey homesteading in Oklahoma Learn about the families that became
united with the Harvey's; the Newlin's, Jeffries', Taylor's, Card's, Holmes',
Golay's, Castleberry's, Zeks's, Brown's, Dingman's and Larson's, as well
as the others listed in the sub-title of this book.
There are many photographs of the several generations dating back to the
1800's. The trails of this family lead across Pennsylvania, North Carolina,
Ohio, Kansas and Oklahoma, a true pioneering family story.
Harvey Connections by Mary Lou Dawson
Batson, South Side Cousins compiled by Harvey
Brown
Both of these books mainly concern the Harvey family
which came out of Northumberland Co., Va. and settled in Halifax Co., N.
C., then spreading west in the early 1800s. A lot of the history tells how
this family went into Tenn. If you know anyone who has family who settled
in Tenn and would be interested, I'll be glad to check these books out for
their family. >> Neither books has a complete index, but I have read
them so many times looking for a clue on my Rebecca that I know most of
the information by heart."
