Who Am I?
I'm a housewife in rural Minnesota.
Ja. You betcha.
My Husband, Jeff, our children, Emily & Matthew, and I live in a small Minnesota farming community with Abigail the Cat & Renaldo the dog. We are members of Lyndale Lutheran Church, a small congregation bravely led by an inspired Pastor, Lyndon Nygaard.
Jeff is a native North Dakotan of Finnish ancestory, and is a professional Mortgage Banker. We own Mortgage Lending of Minnesota, Inc. He enjoys Basketball, travel and being a Dad.
Emily is four years old, already has her favorite websites bookmarked, and it won't be long before she's asking for my Notebook. She enjoys dancing and reading, and her current obsession is Ice Skating (a good and sensible hobby in Minnesota).
Matthew is 11 months old, and just beginning to investigate the world.
I am a native SW Ohioan. I enjoy Genealogy, Computing, homemaking and reading, and am a Charter Member of the local Historical Society. I maintain memberships with several Genealogical and Historical Societies on an international level, as well as the Association of Professional Genealogists. I spend about 40 hours a week working on The Harvey Genealogist, The Harvey Surname Association , and Annie's Veranda, either designing and updating the sites, responding to email or harvesting information from the internet. I also teach Community Education classes and Guest Speak on three topics: Introduction to the Internet, Introduction to Genealogy and, Introduction to Genealogy on the Internet. Of course, I'm first and foremost a Mom and Wife.
As a registered member (#2938) of the (International) Guild of One-Name Studies in London, I have agreed to collect all references of the Harvey (Harvye, Harvy, Harvie, Hervey) Surname on a world-wide basis, and to deal with all reply-paid enquiries relating to the Harvey (et var) surname.
As a registered member of the (North American) Association of One-Name Studies it is my responsibility, as well as my goal, to specialize in all references to the Harvey surname and the specific spelling variants of Harvy, Harvie and Hervey, as registered with that Association.
In keeping with this goal I am required by the Association to :
Extract all entries of the Harvey Surname from censuses
in all states and provinces, 1790-1920, where indices are available, (or
to have electronic access to index information).
Extract all entries from all telephone directories
in the United States and Canada for the Harvey Surname (or have electronic
access to this information).
Photocopy or xerox all entries of the Harvey surname
in the International Genealogical index and Social Security Death Index
for all states, provinces and the UK, as the native country, (or to have
electronic access to this information).
Publish a newsletter or journal at least annually
either as part of the society membership benefit or by separate subscription.
